Mark Schwartz Mark Schwartz, President and Owner, Storm ForceMark was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After receiving a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.
Mark served his country with distinction for 8 years as a F-4 Phantom II fighter pilot and Instructor Pilot.
Upon leaving the USAF in 1987, Mark joined the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, where he enjoyed a 22-year career that saw the company grow from $35 million to a $3+ billion NYSE-listed company. Mark was instrumental in this phenomenal growth, serving in a variety of positions in sales, product development, R&D, head of strategy and M&A, business unit head, and other positions at the Senior VP level.
After leaving Scotts, Mark completed some short term consulting assignments, before realizing his dream of having his own company with the purchase of Storm Force in the summer of 2010.
Mark has two adult children; Matthew, who works with him as Storm Force’s sales manager, and Rebecca, who is currently attending medical school.
The Storm Force Family
In 2005, Klaus Schmitt and his wife, Simone, emigrated from Germany to Naples, Florida and founded Storm Force. Before Storm Force, Klaus had previous experience in the window industry, the automobile industry, and owned his own business with several hundred employees.
Guided by the principles of precision German engineering and excellence in customer service, Klaus and Simone quickly established Storm Force as one of the area’s leading hurricane protection companies. As the company grew, Klaus expanded his staff and crew with some of the finest, most experienced people available. The company outgrew several locations before settling in their current 5,000+ square foot facility in Corporate Square near the Naples Airport. Storm Force’s panel and shutter systems are custom hand-cut and assembled at this facility.
Storm Force has grown considerably and now performs hundreds of assignments each year. Everything from shutter repairs to installing complete hurricane protection on single-family homes to high-rise condominiums to commercial projects is performed. No job is too big or too small for Storm Force; from the installation of storm panels on a single door or window to completely replacing every window and door in large waterfront homes.
In 2010, Mark Schwartz partnered with Klaus, bringing his 20+ years of senior level corporate experience to take the business to the next level. Maintaining Klaus’ standards of excellence, as well as key personnel, Mark has actively expanded the Storm Force brand from Marco Island to Sanibel. Today, Mark is the owner and President of Storm Force and continues to grow Storm Force by providing state-of-the-art hurricane protection products and maintaining exemplary customer service – the driving principles on which Storm Force was founded.
Mark was blessed in the Spring of 2010 to have his son, Matthew, join him in the business, focusing on Marketing and Sales. This is the first time in Mark’s 33 year career that he and his son have worked together.
